I have re-downloaded instagram again and it sucks now. I spent a whole year off social media.
VSCO is the only social media app I support now. They aren’t trying to make money off their customers by their attention or time. They make money off their membership to be on the app.
An app where you can scroll and not see a ad. A app where you choose who to follow and that is all your feed is. You can press on a photo and then the app will suggest other photos by other people that are similar in certain ways. There are no numbers on the app, no like count, no view count, just pure creation from people creating. Some people even use it as a social media but it’s more of a scrap book of peoples lives. The point of VSCO is to share, create, inspire. These core motive show in the app design. Well done VSCO.
It’s not a numbers game. It’s a creative online scrap board. VSCO has been around for so long because they don’t lower their quality for quantity.
VSCO is the way social media platforms should be more like showing someone your scrap book or photo albums. (Maybe thats just the photographer in me.) There is no commenting. Commenting to me is like someone come’s over to your house with a marker and write on your scrap book you were showing them. Hopefully you would never do that. VSCO is respectful and non invasive.
